Meg was the most stubborn puppy I have ever encountered. She was absolutely determined she was not going to walk for anything, and even after weeks of persistence never gave up.
She has been a bitch that has never enjoyed the ring and was quite capable of making everyone aware that she was not a born star.
I decided to breed a litter from her and bought her back into the ring soon after. Surprisingly she decided to show and won the first of two BIS’s at the New South Wales specialty Basenji show. She also went on to win the adult point score for our Basenji Club that year.
Slowly her enthusiasm dwindled and she was back to her old ways, but these days if I show her sparingly I have much more chance that she will perform. Meg continues to amaze me when she decides to show herself.
Meg is definitely more a breed specialist’s type of Basenji as she always excels herself at breed shows.
